I am always curious to see how people blog, what services they use, what equipment they have, how they grow their following, etc. On the flip side, people often tell me that they want to start a blog but don’t know how and then proceed to ask me lots of questions. Which I totally don’t mind at all! Then I thought, maybe, some of you might be interested to know how I blog. Or maybe not 😉 but just in case, I threw together this page. It’s not super fancy, but it’s filled with good information.
A couple things to keep in mind:
The blogging world is constantly changing…so what was relevant yesterday, may sound archaic today. I will try to update the articles with in this page as often as I can, to keep it current.
Also, this page is specific to how I blog. Just because something is working for me doesn’t necessarily mean that it will work for you and there are lots of ways to do things. I hope you use this page as one of many sources available to you. With that said, here we go…
How to use this page:
I have my information organized like a book. Below is the Table of Contents, just click on the topic you are interested in, and you will be taken to another page with a list of articles and resources on that topic. If there is a topic you are interested in but you don’t see it listed, please don’t hesitate to email me with your questions! My email is email@example.com.
My 6 steps to blogging:
I suggest that you work these steps in order! This is because each step is an important foundation piece that needs to be laid to make the next step successful. For example, if you start promoting your blog before it looks and sounds good, you will be wasting your effort. Likewise, if you start trying to heavily monetize your blog before you have the traffic to support it, you will be wasting your time. I know this from personal experience! Keep in mind that once you graduate to the next step, you will still continue to work on the previous steps forever…it just becomes easier because you have mastered each step before you move on.
